Trade In Policy
**New** Effective 10/1/09 we will accept trade-ins on instruments not originally purchased from Centsible Sounds. Instuments must be sent to us with copy of sales receipt to verify original value. Customers may send us pictures and scanned copy of receipts so that a tentative trade in value may be given. However, trade in credit will not be determined until the instrument has been inspected. **New**
Trade-in policy for full-sized instruments:
Centsible Sounds will accept instruments previously purchased from us in trade toward the purchase of another new instrument.
1 - The trade is of similar instruments (i.e. violin to violin).
2 - The trade is toward the purchase of a new instrument of greater value.
3 - The trade instrument has been reasonably well-maintained and has not suffered any significant damage.
4 - Receipts from the original sale are provided by the customer.
*Please note that the trade-in value of your instrument is based on the purchase price of the instrument alone excluding cases and bows. Instruments may incur reconditioning fees in order to bring them up to our standards for resale and warranty. Any exceptions to this policy are at the sole discretion of Centsible Sounds.
Please note: We do not accept trade-in value towards the purchase of consignment instruments.
Trade-in policy for fractional-sized Violin & Viola Outfits:
A child usually changes instrument size about every two years. When you trade your fractional (1/8 through 3/4) violin or viola toward the next size, you can expect a 25% to 35% depreciation from your original instrument purchase price. Cases and bows not purchased within an "Outfit" will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Occasionally, due to market demands or other issues, we may elect not to take trade-ins. Centsible Sounds reserves the right to refuse any trade in.
