The Scott Cao "King Joseph" violin is based on a violin made by Guarneri "del Gesu" from 1737. The original violin came to the United States in 1868 and has been played by some of the foremost virtuosos of our time, including Itzhak Perlman. The Scott Cao model is beautifully antiqued after the original instrument and produces a warm, resonant sound.

Two piece spruce top with fine grain. One-piece maple back with vivid, irregular flame. Ribs of more narrow flame, and scroll similar to back. Antiqued in a warm red-brown color on a golden ground. Made in China.

Fittings:

  • Ebony fingerboard. Boxwood pegs, tailpiece, and endbutton.
  • Aubert Mirecourt bridge.
  • Thomastik Dominant strings.
  • Available in 3/4 & 4/4
